Alephium is a sharded proof-of-work blockchain using the BlockFlow sharding algorithm, which partitions the network into 16 shard groups to increase throughput without sacrificing decentralization. ALPH uses the Blake3 hashing algorithm for its proof-of-work, with block times of approximately 64 seconds and a unique "proof of less work" mechanism that adjusts energy consumption dynamically.
