Bitcoin Cash (BCH) Mining Calculator
Bitcoin Cash shares Bitcoin's SHA-256 mining algorithm, meaning the same ASIC hardware used for BTC can switch to BCH mining. BCH forked from Bitcoin in August 2017 with increased block sizes (up to 32 MB vs Bitcoin's ~1 MB effective limit) to support higher transaction throughput. The BCH halving schedule mirrors Bitcoin — the most recent halving was in April 2024, reducing the block reward to 3.125 BCH.

Best Hardware for Bitcoin Cash Mining
All SHA-256 ASIC miners work for Bitcoin Cash. The Antminer S21 Pro (234 TH/s, 3510W), Antminer S19 XP (140 TH/s, 3010W), and Whatsminer M60S are top performers. Most mining pools (AntPool, ViaBTC, F2Pool) support both BTC and BCH, allowing easy switching based on real-time profitability.
About Bitcoin Cash Mining
Because SHA-256 ASICs can freely switch between BTC and BCH depending on profitability, miners tend to follow the more profitable chain. This creates a competitive dynamic where BCH mining profitability is tightly correlated with the BTC/BCH price ratio.
Bitcoin Cash Uses the Same ASICs as Bitcoin
Bitcoin Cash shares Bitcoin's SHA-256 algorithm, so the exact same ASICs — Antminer S21, Whatsminer M60/M66 — mine both chains. BCH miners therefore compete in the same hardware market as Bitcoin, and the only real decision is which chain pays more per terahash at any given moment.
Because BCH's price and total hashrate are far lower than Bitcoin's, revenue per TH/s is usually lower too — but its difficulty is correspondingly lower. Some operators switch SHA-256 hashrate between BTC and BCH based on real-time profitability ("profit switching").
Bitcoin Cash Economics and CashTokens
Bitcoin Cash followed the same April 2024 halving as Bitcoin, cutting its reward to 3.125 BCH per roughly ten-minute block. Its larger block size targets low-fee on-chain payments, so transaction fees are typically a smaller share of miner revenue than on Bitcoin during congestion.
The 2023 CashTokens upgrade added native token and smart-contract capabilities to Bitcoin Cash, broadening its utility. For miners, sustained on-chain activity helps support fee income, though the block subsidy remains the dominant revenue source.
